The rattery is under construction

  • Care

The care of these beautiful animals is very important to us.

All our rats get a great start at life with Supreme Science Selective Rat Food, vegetables daily and regular free roam time.

All our adults receive regular health checks at the vet.

  • Socialize

Socializing is very important for rats and their development.

All our rats are well socialized with humans and other rats.

Playing with the adult rats to learn how to do rat things. And humans to form a loving bond.

  • Protect

Caring for animals isn’t always easy. There might be times you can’t take care of them for many reasons.

If you’re falling on hard times, any rats adopted from us can be brought back. No questions asked (no refunds).

We also take in rescue rats, not adopted from us, if space is available.

Our set up

We mainly use modular cages. Which are easy to set up, clean, adjust in size and taking up less space when stored.

For the bottom of our cages we use the Songmic pet ‘playpen’ with floor. Which contains 12 panels of 45x35cm and 8 panels of 35x35cm.

For the top of our cages we use wired panels, with different spacing between the bars, depending on the need.

The Songmics pet enclosure has a bar spacing of 2.5cm. Which contains 36 panels of 35x35cm. These are great for large male rats or larger animals.

The Eugad ‘playpen’ comes with a bar spacing of 1.5cm. Which contains 23 panels of 35x35cm and 1 panel with a door. These are great for female rats and young rats.

We also have some regular cages. The Yaheetech Large ‘Parrot’ Cage which has a bar spacing of 1cm. Size 77cm L x 46cm W x 130cm H. And the Yaheetech ‘Rat’ Cage which has a bar spacing of 2.2cm. Size 64cm L x 43.5cm W x 93.5cm H. Which is mainly used as a sick bay. And currently not in use.

Adoptions (coming soon)

Our rattery is under construction. As such we don’t have any rats available for adoption right now.

The following example is how we envision adopting from us is going to look like.

Once the rattery is up and running an adoption page will be created. On this page you’ll see which rats are available for adoption with the relevant information like sex, age, name and the date when available.

If you like to adopt one of the rats available you can contact us by either email or text.

We like to ask a few questions before finalizing any adoptions like:

  • What is your name, email address and phone number? This information will only be used to contact you about the adoption, the fees and adoption related information.

  • Are you an experienced rat owner or first time owner? Being an experienced or first time owner does not matter. This information will help us to give you the support you need.

  • Will the rat(s) be joining another mischief (group)?

  • We might ask for a photo of your cage set up. A photo request is to determine if you’re ready to house the rat(s).

Of course we will discuss with you a date and time for you to pick up your new family member(s).

The adoption costs can be paid through PayPal or bank transfer a day before pick up. Or cash upon arrival to pick up.

The price for adoption will be determent closer to the opening of the rattery.

All our adoptions will come with a ‘care package’ to get you started. This package will contain a portion of Supreme Science Selective Rat Food (enough for 2 days), a little snack mix and a chew toy.

Any adjustment to the process will be detailed once we’re ready to open the rattery.
